Troubleshooting

Access denied when fetching a new token

  1. To improve security, Green Street APIs verify that all requests (both token and data) include a User-Agent header. This is typically included by default for clients such as Postman, but may not be included from clients such as Azure Functions.
  2. If using Postman, after selecting raw body type, ensure the adjacent blue dropdown shows JSON (by default it will be set to Text). This will add the content-type: application/json header which is required to fetch a new token.

SSL Errors when using Python:

  1. Ensure your Python version is up to date, version 3.6.X or greater.

  2. Ensure a firewall or proxy is not blocking your requests. Attempt reaching https://google.com from your python script. If you are unable, either adjust your code for the proxy, or contact your IT administrator.

  3. Ensure your root cert file is available. You can check by installing certifi with pip (pip install certifi), then running the follow script:

    import certifi print(certifi.where())
  4. Ensure DigiCert Global Root CA cert is in your cert file. You can download the pem file here. If you are unable to edit your cert file, you can pass the PEM file downloaded from the link above as a parameter in a python request. See SSL Cert Verification in the Python request documentation

  5. If you are using Anaconda attempt a new clean install of the latest version

  6. If you are still experiencing issues, reach out to customer support.
